About 

A Minneapolis-St. Paul based performing and session musician, Shane Akers specializes in guitar, dobro, and lap steel guitar. He has been performing and recording professionally for the last seventeen years throughout the upper Midwest and beyond.

After years of studying guitar with many great teachers in different genres of music, he discovered a liking for the dobro/lap steel guitar.  Since that discovery, he has found his niche in the Americana/ Singer Songwriter/ Bluegrass genres.

As a performer and session musician, he has had the opportunity to share the stage with the great duo of Chuck Suchy and Pete Ostroushko, Nashville singer songwriter, Scott Laurent, The Dollys, Doug Otto & the Getaways, Sarah Morris, No Tent Band, Reina Del Cid, Sisters Shaw, LSFAM, Fathom Lane, Elliott & the Sensitive Fellas and many others.

Shane is also an active music instructor giving group and private lessons in the Twin Cities as well as online.
